Abbott Program Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten

Abbott Program (Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten - 3 and 4 year olds)

Given that children learn through their own experiences and discoveries, the goal of the UCDCP is to provide high quality educational experiences in an active participatory learning environment to the students of our preschool and pre-kindergarten classrooms in preparation for Kindergarten.

The UCDCP in 47th Street and the Union City Early Childhood Learning Center (UCECLC) at 35th Street adhere to the Preschool Teaching and Learning Expectations: Standards of Quality.  These standards are imbedded in the Early Childhood Curriculum utilized at our center and provided by the UCBOE for the students in the Abbott Program.  The curriculum supports and facilitates teaching and learning in Social/Emotional Development, Creative Arts, Health, Safety and Physical Education, Language Arts/Literacy, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and World Languages.

Our center teachers are skilled in identifying individual student needs, linking instruction to the early childhood curriculum, providing developmentally appropriate supports and program modifications, and evaluating student progress.
